Naci\u00f3 en el barrio neoyorquino de Harlem, el 17 de mayo de 1931. Se crio all\u00ed mismo en ese vecindario frecuentado por algunos de esos nombres que ya eran sin\u00f3nimo de jazz. Su padre tocaba la guitarra en una orquesta de jazz; su madre lo hizo estudiar m\u00fasica y su padrastro, conocer la m\u00fasica de Charlie Parker y el bebop. El \u00e1lbum est\u00e1 firmado por <strong>Jackie McLean<\/strong>, pero quien se destaca es el trombonista y compositor de tres de los cuatro temas que lo integran, <strong>Grachan Moncur III<\/strong>, hijo de Grachan Moncur II y sobrino de Al Cooper, tambi\u00e9n m\u00fasicos de jazz.
